Program Hours
Before School: Program opens at 6:30 am. The children must be brought to the Hearts and Hands classroom (CFE room 501), and signed in by a parent/parent designee. Students will be released to their classrooms at 8:30 am. Kindergarten students will be escorted by Hearts and Hands staff to the Kindergarten hallway .
After School: Program begins at dismissal. Attendance is taken as groups arrive from the Middle School, K-2, and 3-5. Kindergarten and 1st Grade students are picked up by Hearts and Hands staff and escorted to the Hearts and Hands classroom. Program closes promptly at 6:00 pm.
Holidays
Hearts and Hands will provide care on selected single day holidays, provided that a minimum of fifteen children are pre-registered. (Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and President’s Day). Hearts and Hands will follow the school schedule for Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break.
Snow Days/Delays/After School Activities
Hearts and Hands will follow all school closings, for snow days, early or emergency dismissal and when all after-school activities are cancelled. This is an issue of safety for all involved.
In the event of a delay, the children will be released to their classes at the adjusted time. If there is an late announced delay, and school ultimately closes, the program will also close. Any child that was dropped off prior to the announcement will need to be picked up and taken home.
Delay schedule is as follows: 1-hour delay program will start at 7:30 am, 2-hour delay program will start at 8:30 am and 3-hour delay program will start at 9:30am.
Please note: Hearts and Hands is a tenant of the Chenango Forks School District, and as such, will comply with the wishes of the district’s administration in the event of any type of closing or early dismissal.
